STANDARD SCOUT CAMP

  • Scout Uniform (if invested)

  • 1 T-shirt per day
  • 2 pairs of shorts
  • 1 pair undies per day
  • 1 pair of long pants (jeans)
  • 1 jumper
  • 1 Sleepwear (shorts, tracksuit, etc)
  • 1 pair of socks per day
  • 1 pair of shoes (for wearing with uniform)
  • 1 pair of joggers or boots (for wearing on camp)
  • 1 pair of wet shoes (for wearing in water activities)
  • 1 poncho or raincoat
  • 1 toiletry kit
    • toothbrush and paste
    • comb
    • soap
    • shaver (if required)
  • 1 mess kit
    • large dinner plate
    • bowl
    • knife, fork and spoon
    • mug (suitable for hot drinks as well)
    • 2 tea towels
  • 1 towel (for body)
  • 1 sleeping bag
  • 1 ly-lo (air mattress etc)
  • 1 torch (batteries last about 3 nights)
  • Pack or bag to put it all in

NOTES:

In winter add in some extra warm jackets, gloves, beanie, etc. It does get very cold on camp. If camp is longer than 4 days, work the gear out for a 4 day camp and allow for clothes washing on the 3rd day away.

For a hike you should pack as light as practical. Try to get you pack to no more than your age in kilograms, ensuring you include 2kg of water per day away. (eg; 12 year old for 2 day hike = 8kg of packing)

No Walkmans or Game-Boys please.
